Playing with painting tools...

I like the brightness of this image. It seems very pure to me with its green and blue. The old barn has definitely not be used in a long time. Everything seems to be sloping into each other. This image reminds me of my home in Iceland, especially the rolling hills. It reminds me of a hunting shed.

Before After
We were supposed to focus on layering in this assignment. I enjoyed how the painting tools actually feel like real paint. I was surprised by this. It makes the colors mix itself. I tried to explore with thick and thin marks. This helped me work with the subtle. I think I could have done better on this assignment, but I got carried away with playing with the tools. I think it is important to play first because I can get used to it and also still feel full of wonder like a kid.

Wish you were here!!!

The project was to make postcards using photoshop to cut out and paste ourselves into backgrounds and enjoy all kinds of fun experiments with them. I am a horrible photoshop user, for sure! I struggled with having enough patience. When it didn't work out, I was frustrated. I could see what I wanted to do, but I could not yet make it happen. It was awful! I had fun doing them and will keep practicing and experimenting with it...

Just catching a ride...I love the busyness of the place. The colors are wonderful, even though I couldn't get my own colors to fit in. The mood of the image is free-spirited and unworried. It makes me think of vacation. I like thinking about stealing a ride; that makes it more adventurous.

This one is a little abstract, but I think it's funny how the house is kind of on the side. It leans to the left. If it were darker, it would read like Tim Burton. At first, I made part of the grass patterned because I was trying to get rid of these little kids in the picture. After a while, though, I wondered if I could just keep stamping. I made the pattern after copying and pasting a lot. This was the only picture I could find of my sitting, and I DO sit in the grass like that, so it seemed to fit best. This makes me think of Europe. I have been to Spain, England, and Faroe Islands, and want to go back. This house seems old like England.

Something funky about that one but it makes me happy because Im jumping... Jumping is fun...
My new surfer boy...

Making friends with a random person is always a must on a trip.

Here I am falling from the sky sounds like fun if there were some pillows or something to land on...
